Naomi Gauruder

Naomi GauruderNaomi (Mickayl) Gauruder has been a familiar face on the show scene for many years, as she successfully campaigns on the East Coast Hunter Circuit.

Naomi has been a show secretary since 1994 and formed BHC Management in 2004. Currently, BHC Management coordinates approximately 150 shows on the East Coast. Shows range from low-key schooling shows, One-day USEF “C” and “B” shows and on up to “A” and “AA” rated USEF shows.

In 2007, USEF named Naomi as the top Hunter/Jumper show secretary in the country.

Naomi is a USEF "R" Steward, "R" Jumper Judge & "r" Hunter/Equitation Judge. In addition, Naomi holds her "r" in Hunter and Jumper Course Design. 

Naomi is also actively involved politically within the horse world. She serves as Recording Secretary for the National PHA, is Treasurer of the Fairfield-Westchester PHA Chapter & sits on the USEF Horse Show Management Committee & USHJA Zone 1 Committee.   Naomi has participated as a member of the USHJA B/C/Local Task Force, the USHJA Horse Show Management Committee & the USHJA Show regulations task force. She is a past chairman of the FW-PHA Horse Show & High Score Committee, and past treasurer of USHJA Zone 1.

Naomi continues to actively compete herself, and trained her current mount, Armed and Dangerous, to Champion in the CT Hunter Jumper Association Low Training Jumpers. She is looking forward to moving "Harley" up to the 3' Green Hunters this year as well as competing in some hunter derbies and jumper classes.  Past accolates include her earning the Tri-Color 2 years in a row with her Keystone Kopper in the USHJA Pre-Green Incentive program American Bred division. In addition, Naomi also competed in some Western Pleasure classes with her retired hunter, Under the Influence. 

Naomi is the Head Coach of the Fairfield University Equestrian Team in Fairfield, CT. Her riders have competed sucessfully on the IHSA circuit, with qualifiers at the Regional, Zone & National Level, as well as competing at the ANRC National Collegiate Finals & USEF rated shows. 


In addition to the horse world, Naomi previously served the community of Redding, CT  as an Emergency Responder; which included being an Auxiliary Police Officer, EMT and Emergency 911 Dispatcher. (Hence the Law Enforcement themed names of her mounts!) 

Naomi graduated First in her class from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She has held previous positions as a Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Intervention Counselor in Bridgeport CT, and as a Claims Investigator for Progressive Auto Insurance.

Naomi currently resides in Milford CT with her husband Gary, and a managery of 4 legged critters

Chris Dwyer

Chris has been assisting Naomi at horse shows before BHC Management was even official!  She currently works full time for New England Equine Practice as head of accounts receivable, and handles anesthesia during surgeries.  Chris holds her "r" license in hunters and equitation, and has been judging regionally for many years. Having been involved in the horse business for most of her life, Chris is a familiar face at the shows!  Chris currently resides in NY with her husband and two children.
